Manufacturing Technician (Assembly) BOSS Unitech Composites, Inc. - Hayden, ID 83835Salary Range: $17.85 - $24.85 HourlyPosition Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayWork Schedule: M-TH 5:00AM 3:30PM Location: Hayden, IDPosition Summary The Manufacturing Technician completes the layup of assigned composite parts. The successful candidate will ensure that products are produced on time, safely, and meet or exceed quality standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review resident manufacturing plan for proper instructions and specificationsEnsure all necessary parts and materials are presentUtilize specified layup mold (LM) or mandrelComplete layup of part per the manufacturing planInspect each step in the process for quality and presence of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)Visually inspect finished parts for qualityClean part per specificationsBag part per specificationsPlace part on outgoing production shelvesParticipate in continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practicesAssist with standard operating procedures for all production operationsMaintain a clean and organized work areaReplace all tools and materials when job(s) are completeProperly dispose of any/all hazardous materialsEnsure all health and safety guidelines are followedUtilize all mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE)Other duties as assignedPosition Qualifications Demonstrated success in production within a fast-paced, technically focused environment is essential.Must be results-oriented and demonstrate analytical thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations.Demonstrated success working in highly collaborative multi-function environment.Competencies Initiative & Problem Solving Identifies and addresses issues proactivelyEvaluates options and implements effective solutionsSeeks process improvements and considers consequences before actingTeamwork & Relationship Building Builds and maintains positive relationships with coworkers, leaders, and external contactsCommunicates respectfully and professionallyFosters team morale and embraces diverse perspectivesSafety Follows all safety guidelines and housekeeping practicesProperly cares for equipmentCompletes 100% of safety training and required safety actionsJob Knowledge Demonstrates expertise and accuracy in job tasksApplies best practices and stays current in fieldUses proper tools and maintains high-quality standardsDelivering Results Focuses on goals and meets deadlinesPrioritizes tasks effectivelyResponds constructively to challenges and obstaclesContinuous Improvement Participates in lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, RCCA, Value Stream Analysis)Proactively seeks improvementsShows enthusiasm for enhancing work processes and environmentEducation and/or Experience: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Experience: Minimum 6 months' previous work experience, forklift certification a plusPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, push, and pull. The employee is regularly required to perform repetitive motions.The employee is frequently required to push, pull, and/or lift up to 30 pounds, and occasionally push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity where the job is at or within arm's reach.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. Will be required to wear protective gear and follow proper safety precautions.
