This includes working correspondence, appeals, and denials. (Required work schedule 8AM-5PM Eastern Time Zone )Duties & ResponsibilitiesContact insurance payors by telephone or online regarding non-payment or short payment on outstanding claimsContact patient on outstanding balances, assist with payment plans and financial hardshipsReview denied claims and determine next level of actionResubmit corrected claims to payors for reprocessingRespond to insurance payor correspondenceWork AR aging reports for payors and patientsPrint and mail claim forms to insurance payors as needSubmit write-offs, adjustments, and refundsDaily processing of tasks assigned directly to you from the billing software systemWork accounts promptly to ensure claims are processed appropriatelyProvide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers Remain conscious of all policy changes and denial trends implemented by insurance payors Meets work standards by following production and productivity quality standardsPerform other duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum 1 year of experience in medical billing, collections, and accounts receivableExperience with claims processing and insurance payer requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior remote work experience preferredAvailability to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern TimeStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective verbal and written communicationAbility to work independently and collaborativelyDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and qualityStrong time management and productivity skillsAdaptable in a fast-paced, changing environmentReliable, accountable, and able to meet deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)BenefitsMedicalVisionDentalHealth savings accounts with employer contributionFlexible spending account optionsCompany-paid life insurance policyPaid time offCompany holidaysFloating holidays100% company-paid short & long-term disability401k match up to 3.5%Diversity at OttobockWe believe in mutual respect, enjoyment at work, and a culture where everyone feels valued.
