Position Type:Community Programs Date Posted:4/14/2026 Location:RSU 5- District Wide RSU5 DURHAM-FREEPORT-POWNAL Teen Treks Counselor 2025-2026 Community Programs Looking to spend the summer outdoors making a difference in the lives of teenagers? RSU5 Community Programs is looking for a highly motivated individual to be a counselor with our popular Teen Treks Summer Adventure Program for campers entering grades 6-10. Applicants should have experience leading groups in adventure-based programming, possess good communication and organizational skills, and be passionate about working with teens. Applicants must be able to effectively and safely supervise groups on all field trips such as ropes courses, amusement parks, state parks, beaches, and more. This program also includes two overnight trips. Applicants must possess or be willing to attain First Aid & CPR certification, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to confidently drive an eight-passenger van. Camp runs Monday-Thursday, 8:00-5:00 pm, from June 29 - August 13. Additional training days are required prior to the start of camp. Applicants must be able to commit to the entire length of the program. Special Requirements needed: High school or equivalency diploma, experience in outdoor educational and/or adventure programming environment, CPR & First Aid certification, ME Dept. of Education CRHC. Preferred: Bachelor's degree, experience working with adolescents. RequirementsMust hold valid Certification from the ME Dept. of Education. Position remains open until suitable candidate is found.
