Associate Legal Counsel

Quantum Search Partners is partnering with our client, a global leader in digital media, on a search for a Junior Associate Counsel to join their in-house legal team. This is the right role for a sharp, business-minded junior attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, deep exposure to commercial and content licensing work, and a fast path to building real subject-matter expertise in media, IP, and technology.Our client sits at the intersection of media, content, and technology, and is backed by top-tier private equity. They produce content that has won awards and topped bestseller lists, and they continue to grow both organically and through acquisition.About the RoleReporting to the VP of Legal, this person will support a broad range of commercial, content licensing, distribution, and vendor matters. You will own day-to-day contract flow on lower- to mid-complexity matters, partner closely with business stakeholders, and work alongside senior legal leadership on more strategic and specialized transactions.What You'll DoDraft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (NDAs, vendor and SaaS contracts, SOWs, distribution and reseller deals, IP and content licensing)Support content and rights work, including reviewing license agreements and flagging copyright and chain-of-title issuesHelp manage outbound commercial and distribution contracting and revise company templatesAssist with technology and AI-related contracting (data rights, security, model-training restrictions, risk allocation)Provide practical, day-to-day legal advice across content, production, BD, finance, ops, IT, and HRBuild and maintain templates, fallback language, and internal legal guidance to keep things movingWhat We're Looking ForJD and active bar membership in at least one US jurisdictionApproximately 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably a mix of law firm and in-house commercial contracts workStrong commercial drafting and issue-spotting chopsComfort with risk allocation, business-oriented counseling, and managing a high volume of mattersNice to have: in-house experience at a media, publishing, entertainment, tech, or IP-heavy company. Familiarity with copyright, content licensing, SaaS or data-processing terms, or AI-related contracting.
