Position Title: Prefab Shop Welder (Req #: 122)Location: Columbia, MOJob Category: Field CONSPay Range: N/ASalary Interval: HourlyApplication Instructions: QuesTec Mechanical is looking for a welder to join our team in our prefab shop. QuesTec welders will perform welding on a variety of piping and metal structures including stainless steel and carbon steel. This position will be working in our in our prefabrication shop. Pay for this position will be based on experience.Position Description: Able to perform quality and consistent MIG, TIG, and Stick welding procedures on pipeUse additional joining methods such as soldering or brazingRead blueprints and drawings to gain context about how the completed pipe welds will be incorporated within building systemsAble to apply rigging procedures as needed to place finished pipePerform quality control inspection of weldsFabricate metal fixtures by using different types of metalsUse various types of grinding equipment (i.e. grinders, end-grinders, etc.)Use various cutting tools (i.e. oxyacetylene torch, plasma cutting, etc.)Ensure proper safety procedures are always performedAlways maintain a clean work areaPosition Requirements: Must pass a 6G weld test prior to hireRequired Tools: stinger, ground clamp, TIG rig, 4.5 grinder, tape measure, levels, framing square, two-hole pins, center finder, channel locks, pipe wrenchesExperience in welding and fabricating pipeAbility to follow instructions from management and work in a team environmentAbility to work independently when neededAbility to work as a part of a teamAbility to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, bend at waist or back repeatedly while working on productsAbility to lift 50lbs independentlyAbility to push, pull, carry, and maneuver heavy items (with additional manpower or appropriate tools)Ability to withstand long periods of standing, squatting, stooping, and crawling (stationary positions up to 50% of time)Ability to feel, grasp, operate and position items with fingers and handsEqual Opportunity Employer: QuesTec Mechanical is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
