The position performs a variety of production planning activities required to attain production objectives within a single production team. Assignments involve planning activities for purchased parts, including scheduling purchase orders with suppliers. Focus is approximately 10% buying and 90% planning.Key Responsibilities:Review MRP messages to determine what needs to be ordered, rescheduled, or canceled.Balance the need for high service levels with inventory turn goals.Maintain accurate lead times, order multiples, and safety stock levels within JDE.Place orders with vendors, confirm delivery dates, and proactively manage past‑due orders.Complete Supplier Scorecards and collaborate with vendors to resolve recurring issues.Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure the material plan matches actual capacity.Anticipate material gaps and support contingency strategies or secondary sourcing.Release and manage work orders based on raw material availability.Monitor purchase price variances (PPV) and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.Ensure incoming materials meet required quality certifications and manage non‑conforming material.Manage part transitions during Engineering Change Notices (ECN).Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field.1+ years of experience in production planning/materials control or equivalent.Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE).Working knowledge of Word and Excel.Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively solve problems.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.Passion, commitment, and a sense of urgency to achieve results.Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).Proficient ERP/MRP knowledge.Knowledge of freight operations (LTL/FTL, ocean, air) and ability to analyze lead times.Previous experience in manufacturing or related industry.What's in it for me?
