CNC Programmer – WorkNC (Direct Hire) Location: Troy, MI Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong WorkNC programming experience to join our team in Troy, MI. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented machinist/programmer who has experience programming complex 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing efficient CNC programs, reviewing CAD models, supporting machining operations, and optimizing manufacturing processes for high-quality precision parts. Responsibilities Create and optimize CNC programs using WorkNC CAM software. Produce precision machined parts by setting up and operating CNC mills. Review 3D CAD models, blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings. Determine machining strategies, tooling, cutting paths, and programming sequences. Set up CNC mills by tramming/indicating vises and workpieces. Convert engineering designs into efficient CAM programs. Perform machining calculations, select appropriate tooling, and establish cutting parameters. Revise and improve existing CNC programs to increase productivity and reduce cycle times. Troubleshoot programming and machining issues to ensure quality production. Perform preventative maintenance and maintain CNC equipment. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment. Communicate production updates, issues, and shift handoffs to ensure workflow continuity. Required Qualifications Experience programming and machining with CNC mills. Proficiency using WorkNC CAM software. Experience programming 5-axis CNC machining. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and 3D CAD models. Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Fidia, and/or Heidenhain controllers. Background in aerospace, automotive, or defense manufacturing. Experience optimizing machining processes for efficiency and quality.
