The Excavation Support person is a laborer who performs a variety of manual tasks outdoors in all weather conditions; including digging, laying conduit, helping with machinery, etc. This is all done while working in a safe and effective manner. Deeply Digital's outside plant focuses primarily on placing underground and aerial fiber for telecommunications. Its services include line, coaxial, and optical fiber cable placement, splicing, and home installation. Our company is an equal employment opportunity employer. EXPERIENCE Staff hired into this position require at least three (five or equivalent training and demonstrated ability for Senior) years of experience and must be able to demonstrate their ability to perform the Essential Duties/Responsibilities listed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESConnect new customers to existing fiber and wireless ISP services, including performing occasional fiber splicingWork alone or as a team to perform Category 5 and 6 cabling installation, termination, and testing, as well as fiberoptic installation, termination, splicing, and testingNote: Senior Connectivity Specialists serve as team leads on these projects.Conduct Wireless Access Points installation and repairMaintain records of all work completed in the company's job tracking systemDocument changes to company equipment and configurations, as well as customer informationInstall conduit and innerductEstimate time and materials needed for new or modified installationsConstruct IT Rooms and components including racks, patch panels, cabinets, bonding, and uninterrupted power supply systemsWalk jobs, estimate time and materials needed for quotes, and answer technical questions for RFPsKeep abreast of industry trends and technical advancements and make recommendations regarding new technologiesPerform all duties with close attention to safety and standards SPECIALIZED DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The Connectivity Specialists can work across specialties but focus on specific areas. Some do more work with wireless, others with phones, etc. The Connectivity Specialist may focus on one or more of the duties below:Install, troubleshoot, and repair wireless Internet connectivity at client locationsInstall and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment, and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.Design, install, troubleshoot, and repair VOIP and analog phone systemsInstall and set up routers, switches, and other IT equipment to connect customers to the InternetInstall, configure, and repair surveillance and access control systemsDesign, install, configure, and repair commercial audio and paging systemsInstall, monitor, maintain, expand, and update backhaul and wireless tower sites and equipmentOperate splicing equipmentIdentify issues with fiber using red lightConstruct proper splice casesPlace a mid-sheath splice REQUIREMENTSAt least three years of experience with low voltage wiring, fiberoptic, and local area network (LAN) technologiesStrong verbal and written communications skillsWillingness to travel, including a valid Colorado driver's license and good driving recordClean and professional appearanceStandard/basic low voltage hand toolsExcellent people skills with a team orientationAbility to read, understand, and create construction drawings and documentsAbility to problem solve and develop creative solutions for installation challengesSelf-motivated PHYSICAL DEMANDSClimb up and down ladders, towers, machinery, and other objectsPush, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to or over 100 poundsLoad and unload tools and equipment on trucksCoordinate movement of eyes, hands, fingers, and feetSome work is outdoors, subject to inclement weather The pay range for this role is: 18 - 24 USD per hour (Deeply Digital - Farmington)
