Evaluates and assesses provision of services. Performs extended function procedures safely in compliance with regulations under the direction of a dentist. Prepares materials and equipment for treatment and has them ready for use.Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience:High School Education/GED or equivalent: RequiredAssociate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: PreferredTwo years' dental assistant experience: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Registered Dental Assistant Extended Function (RDAEF) licensure in state of practice: RequiredRadiation Safety Certificate: RequiredCoronal Polish license: RequiredSealant license: RequiredCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: RequiredEssential Functions:Conducts preliminary evaluation of the patient's oral health, including (but not limited to) charting, intraoral and extra-oral evaluation of soft tissue, classifying occlusion, and myofunctional evaluation.Sizes and fits endodontic master points and accessory points. Cements endodontic master points and accessory points.Takes final impressions for tooth-borne removable prosthesis. Places, contours, finishes and adjusts all direct restorations.Polishes and contours existing amalgam restorations. Adjusts and cements permanent indirect restorations.
