Basic FunctionProvide minor maintenance and cleaning of assigned facilities and grounds.SALARY: 2AREPORTS TO: Recreation SuperintendentPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: NoneTypical Duties Perform daily or scheduled duties such as sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of floors and carpet, and window cleaning; clean assigned rooms, halls, offices and restrooms; dust and clean walls, furniture, fixtures and remove trash; keep borough building grounds tidy. Replacement and re-supply of paper materials in restrooms and storage. Maintain safe grounds by observing and correcting possible safety hazards such as wet floors or icy sidewalks and report facility damage. Help to ensure building security by being alert to unusual circumstances and by locking doors and windows as appropriate. Perform duties such as replacing lights; periodic maintenance projects such as stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets and snow removal. Perform minor plumbing, electrical and building repairs at assigned facilities. Set up and cleaning of facility for special events. Pick up/delivery of equipment and supplies. Assist with day to day operations of the assigned facilities as needed.Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications One year of institutional/commercial cleaning experience required. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Standard First Aid, Adult CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications, as recognized by the American Red Cross (or equivalent) within six (6) months of hire. (APPLICANTS WHO HOLD A CURRENT CERTIFICATION MUST PROVIDE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATION AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW.) PREFERRED: Ability to have and maintain a valid driver’s license and to meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under the Borough’s insurance program. If personal automobile is used for Borough business, proof of insurance at statutory limits must be provided. (A CURRENT COPY OF DRIVING RECORD WILL BE REQUESTED UPON REQUEST.)Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities A demonstrated ability to read and follow oral instructions. A general knowledge of a variety of custodial tools and supplies.Other A PROFICIENCY TEST MAY BE ADMINISTERED.
