Senior Environmental Project Manager
Perennial Environmental Services, LLC (Perennial), a rapidly growing environmental consulting firm, is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Senior Project Manager to join our Houston or Austin office full time. This position may be hybrid or fully remote for the right candidate.We provide a wide range of environmental services to clients across the nation and are looking for someone who shares our core values of Community, Growth-Oriented, Integrity, Innovation, and Tenacity. The ideal candidate will be a strong, strategic partner to our clients, have at least 3-5 years of experience in Environmental Consulting Project Management, minimum of 8 years of experience permitting large, complex construction projects in the private and public sectors and have demonstrated a progressive career growth in Environmental Services.ResponsibilitiesManage a variety of energy infrastructure projects, with a focus on those regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).Oversee the preparation of critical documentation for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, including environmental permit applications, resource reports for small FERC 7(c) and prior notice projects, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements.Coordinate with clients to manage environmental schedules, budgets, data needs, and project scopes.Oversee the preparation of federal, state, and local permit applications, including those for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Section 404) and threatened and endangered species (Section 7) approvals.Directly involved in consultations with our clients as well as federal, state, and local environmental agencies.Directing staff on and providing technical/editorial reviews of various environmental reports and permit applications.Understand and ensure staff compliance with company and client safety policies and procedures.Occasional travel may be required based on project demands.QualificationsA Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree in one or more of the following disciplines: environmental science, geology, ecology, botany, forestry, soil science, aquatic ecology, plant ecology, or wildlife biology.A minimum of 8 years of experience permitting large, complex construction projects in the private and public sectors.Permitting experience, preferably on pipeline, transmission line, or renewable infrastructure construction projects, involving the following is required:Section 401, 402, and 404 Clean Water Act;Section 10 Rivers and Harbors Act;Informal and formal consultations under the Endangered Species Act; andSection 106 of the Historic Preservation Act compliance.National Environmental Policy Act;A minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership role managing multiple direct reports on a variety of concurrent projects.Experience reviewing RFPs/RFQs, developing environmental project budgets/schedules and writing technical proposals.Experience with Deltek VantagePoint Preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated.Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment and meet deadlines.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.Ability to effectively collaborate with field personnel, internal management, clients, and agency staff.
