We continuously innovate by implementing systemic changes to lower detention populations and promote positive youth development.About Education Services:The Education Services Division provides educational programs for expelled students, troubled youth placed in a county-operated juvenile institution, and students on probation who want an alternative to the traditional high school campus. The Juvenile Probation Department is solely responsible for all programs of the Excel Academy Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP), Excel Academy Charter School, and the Opportunity Center.Position Overview:The Classroom Assistant assists in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the classroom teacher. When needed, fill in for the classroom teacher at various campuses to provide students in the HCJPD education programs with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
