Metrology Supervisor

Apply now to learn more about our relocation assistance.Primary Responsibilities: Advanced understanding and knowledge of instrumentation, lab functions, and techniques to identify and troubleshoot problems are required to complete work assignments. Has the ability to perform calibration, qualification, and support of laboratory instrumentation such as UPLCs, HPLCs, GCs, UV spectrophotometers, MALS detectors, IC, MS, KF, lyophilizers and other related analytical and process equipment. Performs qualification activities on advanced or critical equipment alongside subordinate metrologists. Prepare detailed and accurate documentation of testing performed and works within the in-house SOPs. Ensures subordinates are compliant with regard to FDA regulations, USP, and international ICH guidelines for calibration and qualification of equipment used in production of APIs. Pays specific attention to equipment operating practices and conditions to minimize equipment down time, lower maintenance costs, reduce time to run project and repeat of work. Provides advanced troubleshooting support as needed to subordinate metrologists. Conducts group training sessions within the metrology group or with other groups on new equipment and remediates training on existing equipment as needed. Able to manage group deviation record and ensure deviations are tracked and completed in a timely manner. Review all documentation: calibrations, deviations, preventative maintenance instructions, certificates, etc submitted by the team prior to going to management for approval. Handles new equipment once it is received on site and manages the equipment until it is released for use including the installation, qualification, calibration, and creation of appropriate protocols required for release. Assists metrology team management with action items from existing CAPAs, deviations, and change controls. Communicates effectively with internal team personnel, as well as external team.Qualifications: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering or Electronics. ASQ certification in metrology/ calibration is preferred. Certificates received from major instrument manufacturers preferred (training certificates). 5 or more years’ experience working with LC’s is required, or other advanced instrumentation for chemical analysis. Advanced understanding of Waters’ Empower III software is required. Must be able to walk, sit or stand in a stationary position with or without assistance. Must be able to push, push or lift up to 40lbs. Proficiency in use of software including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.Good communication and writing skills. Must be able to wear safety shoes & glasses through-out the day while in designated areas. Must be ok working in a chemical environment.ADA-These Requirements are a Condition of Employment: Must be able to push, pull, squat, stand and walk through-out the day. Must be able to lift 80lbs. Must be able to wear safety shoes & glasses through-out the day while in designated areas.
