Associate PE Teacher (TK-1st) & Associate Athletic Coach

Full-Time | Start Date: August 1 | On campus 40 hours per week | Schedule includes select after-school athletic coverage and occasional evening games.At Hausner, Associate Teachers are instructional partners in learning and culture-builders in our community. As our Associate PE Teacher for TK-1st grade, you will design joyful, developmentally grounded physical education experiences that help our youngest students grow in confidence, coordination, teamwork, and resilience.In addition to leading early childhood PE, you will play an active role in supporting our athletics program. If you are energized by young children and believe that movement is essential to learning and belonging, Hausner is a place where your work truly matters.Core Responsibilities | Physical Education Instruction (Primary Role 60%)Curriculum & Lesson DesignPlan and deliver developmentally appropriate PE lessons for TK-1st gradeFoster fundamental motor skills, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and overall fitnessDesign activities that emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and joyAlign early childhood PE with the broader TK-8 physical education visionStudent Engagement & DifferentiationCreate a safe and structured environment where all students can participate meaningfullyDifferentiate instruction to meet a wide range of developmental levelsSupport students in building self-regulation, body awareness, and collaborative skillsAssessment & CommunicationMonitor student growth and developmentCommunicate proactively with teachers and families as appropriateCollaborate with General Studies teachers to support the whole childCore Responsibilities | Athletics Support (Secondary Role 40%)Athletic Program SupportAssist with athletic events (e.g., dismissal, carpools, logistics, scoreboard, supervision)Co-coach after-school teams, based on interest and experienceCollaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure smooth program operationsServe as a positive, professional presence for students and familiesProfessional ResponsibilitiesCommunicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and familiesAttend and participate in staff meetings and professional development/certificationsSubstitute for colleagues as neededWe ValueEnergy, warmth, and a genuine love of working with young childrenStrong classroom management grounded in consistency and careCreativity and flexibility in lesson design, balancing structure with playfulnessInitiative and a collaborative mindset with an openness to feedback and professional growthRequirementsRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree from an accredited institutionPrior teaching and/or coaching experience with early elementary-aged studentsStrong organizational, communication, and multitasking skillsComfort with basic office technology (Google Suite, scheduling systems, email)Compensation$60 - 65k annually, commensurate with experience.
