Comfortable climate-controlled facility covering over 745,000 square feet.About The Role:The Operations Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing overall equipment effectiveness, evaluating production/packaging line improvements, new equipment requirements, and troubleshooting protocolsPrioritizes work, schedules and assigns appropriate personnel to complete the workCoordinates with the different departments to release the equipment for serviceArrange shutdowns as neededObtain permits as neededResponsible for parts inventory management and for preventive/predictive maintenance programsServes as a continuous improvement champion for overall equipment effectivenessProvides technical input for the development of equipment/component specifications to assure efficient equipment operationsWhat You'll Do:Oversee overall equipment effectiveness and reliability, establish equipment troubleshooting protocols, and evaluate production/package improvements and new equipment requirementsPrioritizes work and then schedules and assigns appropriate personnel to complete the workCoordinates with the different departments to release the equipment for serviceArrange shutdowns as neededObtain permits as neededProvides input associated with equipment qualification/validation and development of equipment/component specifications to ensure efficient operationsReviews, develops and optimizes master maintenance schedules for production/packaging equipmentMonitors and champions best practices in equipment maintenance and optimizationContinuous Improvement and Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Principles ChampionMake recommendations on innovative and cost-effective options for a given application that meet end-user expectations and produce a high-quality, lower-cost finished productManages small projects including machine modifications, tooling purchases and machine upgradesEstablishes and maintains liaison with equipment vendorsHires, develops, coaches, assigns, rewards and monitors maintenance staffSets objectives and development plans for direct staff as well as indirect departmental personnelIdentifies, selects and implements training and continuous improvement programs to provide professional and interpersonal development for subordinatesEstablishes succession/replacement plans for maintenance positionsProvides information to employees through regularly scheduled team meetingsMaintains all safety and cGMP records and enforces regulatory complianceAssists in planning the annual budget for the departmentMinimizes unnecessary costs and inefficienciesAdditional duties and responsibilities as neededFinancial/Asset Accountability:Indicate the Average Budget or Revenue accountability, as applicableAssist in planning the annual budget for the departmentMinimizes unnecessary costs and inefficienciesOur Ideal Candidate:Education and experience:Minimum of 5 years of progressive maintenance supervisory experience along with formal education preferred in an engineering or technical discipline (BS-Mechanical Engineering or BS Electrical Engineering preferred)Skills and Abilities:Thorough knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment is preferredKnowledge of industrial machine controlsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to interpret blueprints and engineering drawingsThorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical (industrial and automation) applications and repairs is a mustExperience managing maintenance systemsOverall Equipment Effectiveness troubleshooting experienceHistory of successful parts inventory managementFormal packaging experience for consumer goods and advanced computer skills are a bonusWe seek a motivated individual with sound fundamental knowledge of high-speed packaging and manufacturing equipment who can hit the ground runningOn-call Experience:Maintenance: 5 years (Required)Supervisory: 5 years (Required)Manufacturing: 5 years (Required)What Do We Offer:Competitive salaries, comprehensive health/vision/dental insurance, company-paid short-term disability, company-paid life and accidental death insurance (after 30 days waiting period), 401(k) plan match of 4.5% with immediate vesting, generous employee referral program, 15 days of vacation annually, 12 paid holidays annually, onsite cafeteria, job advancement opportunitiesManufacturing employees also receive company-paid work shoes, uniforms and prescription safety eyeglassesWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
