Electrical Engineer📍 Location: Oak Brook, IL🏢 Schedule: Hybrid (4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote)💼 Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct HireAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Oak Brook, Illinois. This role will focus on the design and delivery of electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional, higher education, and mission-critical facilities.The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical building systems design, is knowledgeable in applicable electrical codes, and enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systemsPrepare construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documentationPerform electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis, short-circuit studies, and other system calculationsCoordinate designs with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and clientsEnsure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and industry standardsSupport project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and engineering deliverablesReview shop drawings, RFIs, and equipment submittalsParticipate in project meetings and provide technical support during design and constructionConduct field investigations, site visits, and commissioning support as requiredMaintain accurate engineering documentation and project recordsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 3 years of electrical engineering experienceExperience designing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional, higher education, or data center projectsProficiency with AutoCAD and RevitStrong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)Experience performing electrical calculations and power system analysisExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work 4 days onsite per week in Oak Brook, IllinoisPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit of PE licensureExperience using SKM PowerTools or similar power system analysis softwareExperience with BluebeamKnowledge of the Chicago Electrical CodeExperience supporting large commercial or industrial construction projects
