We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.At SMI, we truly are a Family Serving FamiliesThe AVP supports the SDU Senior Vice President in planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of the Child Support State Disbursement Unit (SDU) projects as well as supporting business development initiatives with industry associations. Ensure project operations consistently comply with corporate policies and procedures, applicable rules and regulations, State SDU contract requirements, and all relevant laws and codes. Provide leadership in the training, development, and performance evaluation of assigned personnel. Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying opportunities for service enhancements, operational efficiencies, and contract growth. Carry out all responsibilities with the highest level of discretion due to the confidential and sensitive nature of the role, while promoting a collaborative, team-oriented approach to the successful execution of the project.Key Responsibilities :Assist the Senior Vice President in directing daily operations of the Child Support State Disbursement Unit (SDU) project to ensure performance standards, service levels, and contractual obligations are consistently achieved.Monitor operational metrics and key performance indicators; identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.Promote a collaborative, team-oriented environment that supports operational excellence and employee engagement.Implement and enforce corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain operational integrity and efficiency.Support strategic planning initiatives to enhance service delivery, scalability, and long-term contract success.Ensure full compliance with State SDU contract requirements, federal and state regulations, corporate policies, and applicable laws.Support client meetings, reporting reviews, and strategic discussions to ensure alignment with state objectives and expectations.Consults appropriately with stakeholders regarding project changes and decisions;Identify opportunities for service enhancements, operational efficiencies, and value-added solutions that strengthen client satisfaction and contract retention.Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal support, renewals, contract modifications, and expansion opportunities.Exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive client, financial, and personnel information.Uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all internal and external interactions.Manages and effectively uses corporate and project resources;Communicates changes and decisions appropriately with staff and stakeholders; and Performs related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive leadership experience in project or operational management, preferably including direct oversight within a Child Support program environment. A Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related discipline is required; a graduate degree is preferred.Demonstrated experience managing complex operations, leading cross-functional teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting client relationship management is highly desirable. Equivalent combinations of advanced education and relevant leadership experience will be considered.Language Skills: Must speak EnglishComputer Skills:Experience using Microsoft Windows with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software products.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
