Automation Engineer

Automation Tester EngineerSummary:The Automation Test Engineer is responsible for defining and driving quality strategy across multiple initiatives while remaining hands-on in test design, automation, and execution. This role emphasizes managing multiple priorities, and leading quality efforts for complex integrations, data products, and enterprise platforms supporting our federal client. The ideal candidate blends technical depth, and strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions with an interest in joining an automation team that can leverage AI to increase speed, accuracy, and coverage across complex integration environments.Key Responsibilities:• Explore new capabilities like automated data-drift detection, schema and contract change alerts, anomaly prediction across ingestion and API flows, and early identification of data quality gaps• Develop and maintain comprehensive performance testing approaches• Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and risk-based testing approaches• Focus on modern, AI accelerated quality engineering• Work with AI-driven tools that help prevent future production issues through proactive detection• Interpret AI-generated insights, validate or investigate anomalies and translate these findings into improved test scenarios and integration checks• Oversee end-to-end test execution and defect lifecycle management• Lead testing for system integrations, data migrations, and multi-platform workflows• Validate data integrity, interfaces, and cross-system dependencies• Champion test automation and continuous testing practices• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and manage multiple Git branchesRequired Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree• 3+ years of experience in software testing / quality engineering automation• Experience with modern tooling such as Test containers, PACT, API test automation, and observability aligned validation• Strong automation fundamentals (Java, Spring, Cucumber, API testing)• Experience with performance testing• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and DevOps practices• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Ability to obtain Public Trust / Background Investigation clearance• U.S. citizenshipPreferred Qualifications:• Experience supporting U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or IRS. • Hands on experience using AI tools to enhance testing workflows and AI accelerated quality engineering• AI assisted test generation, contract and schema validation, telemetry driven testing• Experience integrating automated quality gates into CI/CD• Comfortable working with AI-driven tools that help prevent future production issues through proactive detection• Interpret AI-generated insights, validate or investigate anomalies flagged by monitoring pipelines, and translate these findings into improved test scenarios and integration checks.• Experience in regulated or large enterprise environmentsCompensation:The salary is budgeted at $105,000-$120,000 annually, plus benefits.
