You will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining company health and safety policies and procedures whilst overseeing employee training and development programs. The roles ensure compliance with relevant with relevant legislation, promote a strong safety culture and support the continuous development of our employees.The role will include the following duties:Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and company procedures across the groupComplete health and safety audits on site and provide feedback/recommendations to the catering manager verbally and in a written report via company AppComplete accident investigations and RIDDOR reportsMaintain ISO Accreditations and prepare information for audits and assessmentUpdate where required company policies and procedures on Health and SafetySupport the teams to ensure delivery of company policies and proceduresCo-ordinate and deliver the Health and Safety Induction training for new managersProduce and deliver accident statistics and health and safety updates to the business on a regular basisParticipate in Head of Department meetings, Operational meetings and training eventsLiaise with clients where required providing Health and Safety expertiseLiaise with insurance companies and co-ordinate claims managementKeep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the catering/hospitality industryPrepare reports on safety performance, training compliance and improvement initiativesWork with the HR Manager to ensure all staff inductions and training programs are up to date and implemented in the businessWorking with and developing our outsourced mandatory training provider softwareEnhance the induction and ongoing training processes within the businessesSupporting the operations team with staff development plansCarrying out ad hoc duties as directed by line manager.Skills:NEBOSH Trained – desirable, training can be subsidised and arrangedExperience is food safety is essentialExperience in a specialist Health & Safety role advising a business on systems and processes and/or have had a front line Health & Safety responsibility is advantageousExperience of working within the Catering/Hospitality Sector is advantageousPrevious experience in staff training and development advantageousGood communication and presentation skillsAbility to articulate and to confidently present to all levels of management and colleaguesA 'can do' attitude, prepared to assist the rest of the teamComputer literate with keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft packagesFlexibility is required as you may be asked to work earlier or later than your normal working hours on occasionA full UK Driving Licence is requiredAble and willing to travel across the operational area predominantly the North of England (the catering business is extending locations)An enhanced DBS check will be required for this roleMellor Catering needs the contact information you provide to us to contact you about our products and services.
