Senior Land SurveyorBrooklyn, NYA fast-growing civil engineering and land surveying firm based in Brooklyn is seeking a highly experienced Senior Land Surveyor to support its expanding operations. With three active field crews and increasing project demand across NYC's five boroughs, the team requires a senior office-based expert to provide technical authority, ensure calculation accuracy, and relieve pressure on existing leadership.This is a critical hire for the business and is best suited to a seasoned surveying professional who thrives in a technical, detail-driven environment and takes pride in precision work supporting field execution.You will act as the technical backbone of the surveying operation, ensuring accuracy in boundary determinations, control data, and calculations that directly guide field crews across complex NYC projects.You will work closely with the survey team lead and play a key role in maintaining quality, consistency, and efficiency across all active projects.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform high-level property line and boundary calculations across NYC's five boroughsPrepare and review control sheets and survey deliverables for field teamsProvide senior technical oversight and resolve complex boundary or calculation issuesSupport field crews by ensuring all survey data is accurate, complete, and actionableAct as a senior technical authority within the surveying workflowAssist the survey lead in managing workload and improving operational efficiencyWhat We're Looking For10-15+ years of land surveying experienceStrong background in office-based surveying calculations and control sheet preparationDeep understanding of NYC boundary and property line challengesExperience supporting and guiding field crews from the officeProven ability to operate as a senior technical authorityStrong attention to detail and high accountability for accuracyPreferred (Not Required)Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in NY/NJ(Licensure increases responsibility and compensation, but non-licensed senior professionals will be considered)CompensationNon-licensed senior professionals: $120,000 - $150,000Licensed PLS candidates: $170,000+ (negotiable based on experience)Work StructureIdeally, 5 days onsite in Brooklyn to support close coordination with field teamsFlexibility may be considered for exceptional candidatesCandidates commuting from New Jersey may be considered for a hybrid arrangement (2-3 days onsite)Why should you apply?High-impact, business-critical hire due to increased project volumeDirect influence on survey accuracy and field execution qualityWork closely with experienced survey leadership in a fast-growing firmStrong autonomy within a highly technical and respected surveying functionClear opportunity to shape internal surveying standards and workflowsPlease apply or message me directly.
