Food and Beverage Specialist
Our client, a high-profile New York City arts and cultural organization is seeking a Temporary Food & Beverage Coordinator to support daily operations for a major seasonal public event series. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced hospitality environments, enjoys operational problem-solving, and takes pride in creating seamless guest and vendor experiences. The position plays a key role in ensuring food and beverage operations run smoothly each day, from vendor coordination and facility readiness to safety compliance and on-site support.Location: New York City, NY (On-Site)Schedule: Early June - mid August (10 weeks):Early morning, evening, and weekend availability requiredCompensation: $25-32/hourKey ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day food and beverage operations for seasonal programming and vendor activityManage hands-on food truck operations, including propane tank changes, stocking supplies, and maintaining handwashing stationsCoordinate opening procedures to ensure all service areas are clean, organized, and fully operational before guests arriveConduct daily inspections of equipment, inventory, and safety procedures to maintain compliance with health and sanitation standardsPartner closely with event production, guest experience, and campus operations teams to support smooth daily executionMonitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of supplies as neededTroubleshoot operational issues in real time to maintain a high level of service and efficiencyPrepare reports related to opening procedures, incidents, and operational performanceEnsure visiting vendors properly close out operations each evening and prepare spaces for the following dayTrain and guide staff on operational protocols, customer service standards, and safety proceduresIdeal Background2+ years of experience in the food service, hospitality, or event operations industryStrong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hospitality compliance standardsComfortable performing physical and hands-on operational tasksAbility to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekendsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience supporting live events, food vendors, or hospitality operations is highly preferredG-23 Certification and TIPS Certification strongly preferredHospitality Management or related degree is a plusExperience with inventory systems or scheduling software is beneficial
