Food Access Associate
Seasonal Food Access Associate This part-time, seasonal, associate-level position is responsible for assisting the day-to-day logistics of operations for the Aggregation/Healthy Food Access Program while also providing support for Community Food Access Programs and other Farmer Training and Services initiatives. Job Duties: SCLT Aggregation Program Assist Aggregation Program staff with the day-to-day logistics of program implementation, including receiving and documenting produce deliveries from farmers, packing fresh produce for community distribution, and organizing materials and information for efficient workflow while maintaining a clean working environment Train and support farmers with produce invoicing and financial record keeping Deliver produce in the SCLT van to households and/or organizational partners in Providence, Pawtucket, Central Falls and surrounding areas, and handle customer pick-ups Communicate with participating farmers to determine produce availability Work with other members of the Aggregation and Farmer Training and Services teams to provide training and technical assistance to participating farmers in order to improve food safety Complete other tasks and responsibilities as assigned Community Food Access Programs Organize and/or create educational materials for program recipients based on the produce they will be receiving that week Create a product crop quality album Complete other tasks and responsibilities as assigned Desired Experience, Education, Knowledge, and Skills Experience, knowledge or interest in healthy, culturally appropriate foods, sales, food industry, and farming High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience Providence, Pawtucket or Central Falls area resident Valid driver's license and clean driving record REQUIRED Demonstrated experience with, and commitment to, work that advances race equity and social justice Skills in any of the following languages: Spanish, Swahili, Kinyarwanda/Kirundi, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Hmong, French, Kunama, Burmese, Haitian Creole, Khmer, and Lao, or any language spoken by under-resourced communities in South Providence, Pawtucket and Central Falls SCLT welcomes your application even if you do not possess all of the attributes listed above. Mondays 10am1pm; Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am4:30pm; Wednesdays and Fridays 9amnoon, from July through mid-November. Some evening and weekend work is required. Compensation: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, set based on prior relevant experience.
