Program Manager
We are hiring a Program Manager for one of our clients in Newark, NJ.Job DescriptionThe specifications outlined are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed by employees in this position. Assists in the administration and management of Non-Agreement employee health benefit plans.Manages productivity of consultants' and vendors' work.Assists with the management of all aspects of the annual health benefits open enrollment processes.Coordinates activities as they relate to health benefits administration across various departments including, Pensions, Payroll, Human Resources and Labor Relations.Processes and approves health benefit plan documentation, including enrollment, transfers and terminations for employees, retirees and their dependents. Ensures plan members are appropriately coded in various enrollment systems and proper plan deductions are withheld.Conducts individual pre-retirement health benefit information sessions for employees planning for retirement.Presents health benefits presentations at group meetings, to individual employees and the retiree population, as needed.Becomes proficient with interpreting plan design; resolves claim problems and disputes and provides direction to insurance carriers, when appropriate.Assists with the completion of ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned.Becomes proficient with evaluating union contracts with respect to benefits plan features.Supports all aspects of ACA regulatory requirements.Maintains and secures confidential employee information as required and ensures excellent customer service to our customers.Assumes the responsibilities of the Manager, Employee Benefits in their absence.Other duties as assigned.Strong customer service, time management, communications and organizational skills required, as is the ability to work independently and to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization including management and union members.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point preferredEducation, Experience And QualificationsBachelor's degree from a US Department of Education accredited college or university, and one (1) year of applied experience in health and welfare benefits plan administration and understanding of health and welfare benefit programs required.
