Music Teacher

Music Teacher (PreK–5) – Part-Time (1 Day per Week)Fayette Central School has an opening for a part-time Music Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. FCS is a small rural elementary school in Fayette, located approximately 15 miles west of Augusta. We serve approximately 65 students in grades PreK–5. This is a one day per week, school-year position.We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Music Teacher to join our elementary school community one day per week, working with students in PreK through Grade 5. The ideal candidate will foster a joyful and inclusive music environment where students can explore, create, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music through active, hands-on learning. Our goal is to provide children with meaningful opportunities to explore music in a hands-on way and experience the excitement of learning through instruments and creative expression.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and teach engaging music lessons for students in PreK–5Introduce students to a wide variety of musical styles, cultures, and instrumentsIncorporate hands-on experiences with percussion, rhythm, melody, and instrumental explorationCreate an encouraging classroom environment that supports creativity, participation, and confidenceCollaborate with classroom teachers and school staff as neededSupport performances or informal showcases when appropriateQualificationsMaine teaching certification in Music Education requiredExperience teaching music to elementary-aged students preferredExperience with a range of musical instruments and a willingness to incorporate instrument exploration into lessonsAbility to engage young learners through movement, singing, rhythm, and interactive activitiesStrong classroom management and communication skillsPassion for music education and fostering student creativityFayette Central School values community, creativity, and strong relationships.
