Pay Rate: $110.00 - $119.50/hour on W2
Contract Length: 8 months
Location: Spring, TX 77389 (Onsite)
Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They're expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
The Materials Management Engineer (MME) supports or leads the implementation of project materials purchasing and management.
This includes planning and executing materials management strategies, purchasing, expediting, inspection, logistics, customs, and overseeing field materials management activities such as transport, receipt, storage, maintenance, allocation, issuing, and surplus disposal when assigned to a fabrication yard or construction site.
This role works closely with cross-functional project teams (Engineering, Quality, Project Management, and Construction) and interfaces with suppliers to execute bidding strategies and procurement activities for capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
Support and contribute to the development of project documentation related to purchasing and materials management.
Lead or advise on implementation planning and execution of project-specific processes for:
Purchasing
Expediting
Inspection
Logistics
Importation
Develop and implement surplus disposition plans, coordinating with Investment Recovery as needed
Ensure proper execution of preservation plans and timely handover of
Special tools
Capital equipment
Operating spares (2-year supply)
Initial equipment fills requirements
Review and endorse plans, procedures, and processes for materials management activities.
Review purchase orders and templates to ensure alignment with prime contract requirements.
Oversee and coordinate interfaces across all materials management activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Communicate with project team (PT) and leadership on activities, progress, issues, and impacts to cost and schedule.
Interface daily with project stakeholders including Engineering, Quality, Project Management, Contractors, and Suppliers.
Support supplier engagement, including bidding strategy and procurement execution.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience.
Background working with engineering contractors and/or operators (e.g., EPC companies such as KBR, Fluor, Technip, Bechtel, Wood)
Experience in capital projects procurement within an EPC contractor and/or operating company environment preferred.
Strong understanding of procurement principles and commercial practices.
Solid knowledge of capital project execution within the industry.
Experience in materials management preferred.
Broad understanding of materials management principles, theories, and concepts.
Management experience on major projects preferred.
Willingness to travel or relocate to project sites (domestic and/or international)
