We strive to foster diverse perspectives, equity and inclusion in all facets of our organization, from board to volunteer, from artist to audience and beyond.SIFF is committed to...Making our organization's culture more inclusive and affirming, acknowledging Seattle's Indigenous heritage, and creating more racially equitable and socially just outcomes both within our organization and through our community impact.About The PositionThe Festival Cinema Floor Staff are responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and cinema going experiences to SIFF Cinema customers and guests during the Seattle International Festival.Wage: $23.10Employment Type: Temporary Part-TimeEmployment Duration: April 6th - May 17th, 2025Obligation: Candidates in this position should be available to work up to 10-15 hrs/week with opportunity to potentially pick up more hours throughout the festival.Reports to: Senior Manager of Cinema OperationsPrimary Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvide excellent customer service and positive cinema going experiences to all SIFF Cinema customers and guestsSell concession items while maintaining a balanced cash drawer, reporting any discrepancies to cinema management as needed Complete all assigned tasks each shift; including concessions, opening, mid-shift, and closing tasksMaintain basic cleanliness in concession area, restrooms, lobby and theaters, including completing daily & weekly cleaning tasks, and the cleaning of auditoriums after each screeningConduct auditorium checks, as scheduled throughout the shift, for quality control of picture & sound presentation as well as ensuring audience members are not being disruptiveEnsure concessions stock is properly maintained throughout shift, restocking as neededProvide general information about SIFF and its programs to customersCommunicate facilities issues and customer concerns to cinema managementKeep current on SIFF Festival programming, series and events, and schedulesAssist with event set-up and breakdown, when neededClosing shifts includes thoroughly cleaning concessions equipment, including popcorn machines.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications1+ years of cash handling experience1+ years of customer service experience demonstrating excellence inMust be 21 years of age or olderCurrent Food Handler's Card & Class 12 Mixologist Permit obtained in WA State, or ability to obtain themAbility to work a flexible part-time (approximately 10-15 hrs) schedule consisting of nights, weekends and holidays with open availability May 7th- May 17thDemonstrated commitment to racial equityDesiredExcellent interpersonal and professional communication skillsAbility to multitask while maintaining customer-facing responsibilitiesHigh comfort level with computers and POS systemsEnjoy working in a fast-paced, customer focused environmentCinema Experience working in a comparable environment Love of independent cinema & filmSIFF believes in an equitable hiring processThis is a temporary, part-time, hourly position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact with patrons and coworkers, sit and stand for extended periods of time, physically assist patrons when needed, and lift up to 30 pounds.
