Series Planning Engineer
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position ensures the exchange of product related information. It ensures a smooth product transfer from RD/PP through product, process and equipment/technology implementation in the Paint Shops.
Responsibilities:
Supports Development (RD) at design for manufacturing, using the experiences out of current series production.
Prepares planning options, evaluate cost-efficiency and provide analysis of both.
Plans, specifies and purchases paint shop equipment, oversee transfer of equipment to production, ready for operation or assigns and coordinates
Production Planning Department in case of large or new product launch projects.
Exchanges information with partners / colleagues in the plant and in PP to establish and share best practices and Implement those best practices into processes and work instructions.
Works in project groups and leads and/or coordinates projects.
Plans and introduces measures to assure corrosion protection and follows/meets legal requirements for the protection of the environment.
Procures from and exchanges information with Development, Production, Suppliers and other related persons or departments.
Reviews product concepts with Development Engineers throughout the development phases.
Provides plant requirements to the Development Engineers to enhance manufacturing and document lessons learned.
Prepares documents requiring product improvements and works with the Development engineers until closure.
Follows and ensures all affected rules, policies and laws concerning safety and security.
Experience:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience)
A minimum of 3 years in Paint Shop as it relates to paint process, materials and/or paint application.
Required Skills:
Experience in project management and in leading problem solving groups.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Proven capability to develop and support strategic directions and concepts for the organization.
Ability to communicate effectively.
PC application knowledge: WORD, EXCEL, MS Project and Power Point.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing, in German and English.
Experience in CAD systems (Engineering Client, Solidworks, Siemens NX, Catia, FAPLIS).
Experience with Management Software.
Project Management Certification like PMP, PMI-ACP.
Lean Six Sigma Certification

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
