The firm maintains a strong regional presence across Mississippi and Louisiana and represents clients in a wide range of maritime and admiralty matters.This is a confidential opportunity with a firm known for its laid-back, collaborative culture and supportive ownership. The firm takes pride in offering a family-friendly atmosphere and a unique culture that values work-life balance alongside high-quality legal service.Position OverviewThe Associate Attorney will manage maritime and admiralty cases from inception through resolution. This role offers hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and meaningful responsibility early on.Key ResponsibilitiesManage maritime/admiralty cases from start to finishConduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and memorandaHandle discovery, including drafting and responding to written discoveryTake and defend depositionsParticipate in mediations, hearings, and court appearancesCommunicate directly with clients, adjusters, and opposing counselConduct case evaluations and assist with litigation strategyAssist in trial preparation and participate in trial when applicableMaintain accurate billing and case documentationQualificationsActive license in one of the following - LA, MS, or TX (in good standing)1+ years of experience in Maritime or Admiralty law requiredStrong legal research and writing skillsDeposition and courtroom experience preferredAbility to independently manage files with minimal supervisionProfessional, responsive, and client-focused mindsetCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly compensationCommission structure tied to performanceQuarterly bonus opportunitiesStandard medical benefitsFamily-friendly work environmentFlexible structure with leadership that values autonomySupportive, non-micromanaged atmosphereWhy This Opportunity?Direct exposure to maritime litigation along the Gulf CoastGrowth potential within a stable and expanding firmHands-on experience with meaningful case responsibilityA culture that prioritizes productivity without rigid bureaucracyThis is a confidential search.
