This role is focused on executing the end-to-end sales tax compliance process for a portfolio of clients, while also assisting with process improvements and supporting the development of scalable compliance tools. You will play an important role in helping our team deliver high‑quality client service while contributing to the continued development and expansion of our SALT practice.Duties & Responsibilities:Sales Tax Compliance ExecutionPrepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns for multiple clientsManage the full compliance lifecycle, including:Sending monthly data requests and reminders to clientsReviewing and organizing client-provided dataPreparing returns and supporting schedulesFiling returns and coordinating paymentsDocumenting filings, payments, and supporting workpapersClient Data & Process ManagementTrack filing deadlines and maintain a centralized compliance calendarMaintain client login credentials, account data, and filing recordsAssist in reconciling client data to filed returns to ensure accuracy and completenessNotice & Account SupportAssist with responding to state notices and resolving account issuesSupport the team in maintaining proper documentation, including powers of attorney where applicableProcess Improvement & TechnologySupport development and refinement of internal tools, including:Filing calendarsData reconciliation toolsProcess workflows to enhance efficiencyWork with internal systems and compliance software (e.g., data uploads, templates, or tax engines)Research & Additional SupportPerform light sales tax research as neededAssist with related SALT projects (e.g., nexus reviews, taxability analyses) during non-peak periodsThis role operates on a monthly compliance cycle, where the majority of time is spent on return preparation, filing, and documentation. Additional time may be allocated to process improvement, tool development, and light research outside peak compliance periods.Education & Experience: Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage recurring deadlines and multiple client engagementsEffective written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer systemsDemonstrated ability to learn new processes and systems quicklyPreferred (but not required)Exposure to accounting, finance, or tax conceptsExperience with sales tax compliance or tax-related processesFamiliarity with sales tax software or data toolsNote: A formal tax credential is not required for this role. - hybrid
