Host/Hostess Position at Fixins Soul KitchenFixins Soul Kitchen seeks to redefine the American soul food experience. We are full-service restaurants that uniquely combine traditional soul food with outstanding service and hip, energetic dining environments. Founded by former NBA All Star Kevin Johnson and his wife, Michelle, Fixins' menu is rooted in the Southern recipes passed down through generations from Kevin's family and friends. Established in 2019 with the flagship store in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento, CA, Fixins is rapidly expanding. With additional current locations in Los Angeles (at the Staples Center), Tulsa (Black Wall Street), Detroit (Harmonie Park) and 6 new stores planned to open in the next 2 years, we are seeking team members at all levels to join us in our goal of becoming the largest Black owned restaurant group in the nation.Position SummaryAs a Host/Hostess at Fixins, you are the first smiling face our guests seeand you set the tone for their entire dining experience. You'll welcome each guest with warmth and professionalism, provide accurate wait times, and ensure smooth seating flow throughout the restaurant. This role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality. If you love creating great first impressions and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, we'd love to have you at our front door.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide first and last impressions that are lasting impressions.Maintain energy and enthusiasm throughout the shift.Answer the telephone in a friendly, upbeat manner and with a smile on your face.Perform the role of Greeter, Seater and Coordinator.CoordinatorKnow menu details, drink special(s)/specialtiesKnow what credit cards we acceptGreet Guests with a warm, friendly smile and eye contactUse genuine and unique greetingsManage the seating listMonitor wait timesOrganize the seating of GuestsManage the communication throughout the restaurantWelcome all Guests with genuine and unique greetingsSeaterProvide relentless service to all Guests.Manage Call Ahead Seating and Reservations.Complete assigned opening, ongoing, and closing sidework.Complete Restroom Sanitation Checks every 15 minutes.Maintain a safe, sanitary, and secure environment at all times.Notify a Manager of all Guest complaintSecondary ResponsibilitiesAssist Bussers by clearing and/or wiping tables.Assist Servers by refilling beverages.Assist Bartenders by handling carry out orders.Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by a Manager.QualificationsMinimum of 1 year of experience hosting in an upscale restaurant setting.Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service and exceed guest expectations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clientele.Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.Impeccable appearance and demeanor, reflecting the standards of an upscale dining establishment.Proficient in upscale dining etiquette and service protocols.Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededMust have or be willing to obtain Food Handler's Card and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification if required by law (Certifications differ per state)Work Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reachingExposure to hot surfaces, kitchen equipment, and potential allergens$16.50 - $16.50 an hour.
