We are a team committed to service, to bettering our communities, and the world.Job Summary:Mechanics 60% Laborer 20% Welding 10%- Perform other Job Duties as assigned 10%The Wild Animal Sanctuary is seeking an experienced mechanic for our fleet of vehicles. Interested candidates should have a strong work history and deep knowledge of general mechanical duties (auto and diesel). Duties include inspect, service, repair and maintain vehicles, trailers, 4-wheelers, and other power-operated equipment. Work will be performed primarily on-site at Sanctuary in workshop, but occasional job site fieldwork may be required. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision and be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and quality-focused. The position will involve frequent lifting in excess of 70 pounds, as well as prolonged standing.A high level of safety awareness with a demonstrated commitment to working safely at all times is required. Must be able to make knowledgeable decisions independently to ensure all operational needs are met.Minimum Job Requirements:5-7 years of work experience in related field preferred (automotive truck and/or heavy equipment service repair and maintenance preferred)Some college or vocational training preferred but not requiredCDL is preferred but not required (Special consideration if applicant has a Valid CDL)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAdditional certifications such as current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Auto or Truck or equivalent certificationsRequired/Other Qualifications:Possess a valid Colorado driver's license and have a satisfactory driving recordSolid understanding of mechanical, operating, and electrical functions of Heavy Equipment and Automotive RepairKnowledge of Welding and RepairPersonal Characteristics:Self-motivated, productive, and results-orientedKeeping an organized and tidy workspaceFlexible, ability to adapt to change and shifting priorities and to work simultaneously on a variety of complex projectsTeamwork orientated with ability to work independentlyPatient, a good listener, and a heart for animalsDesire to learn, grow, and be coachedContribute to a positive cultureAs you can see, we are looking for people who possess strong foundational skills with an attitude to succeed.
