Tooling Manager

JOB SUMMARY The Tooling Manager is responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of the Die Shop to include, but not limited to, personnel, production, maintenance, customer requirements/interface, planning and scheduling, safety, and housekeeping. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Work safely in compliance with applicable OSHA rules and regulations, especially those that apply to tool & die work. Ability to read and understand mechanical prints and drawings. Ability to use measuring devices including calipers, etc. Minimum 1 year of experience in the setup and operation of: o Saw / Drill Press o Grinders o Air Tools o Other woodworking equipment. Ability to execute work orders. Possess excellent communication skills. Maintains an active customer service attitude. Build and modify existing tooling per customer changes and requirements. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair tooling for customers as needed. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Your Education and Background will have: Two-year technical degree preferred. 1 to 3 years of relevant tool & die/machinist experience required as well as die making experience darfting background a plus. Determines the layout, fabrication and assembly of all types and sizes of tooling as required. This includes when necessary, supplementing information given on the tool design drawings or improvising tool and dies for which no tool design drawings are available to follow. SKILLS AND COMPETENCES · Proven ability with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel · Proven ability to create a safety-conscious environment within assigned team · Ability to manage customer orders and administration work related to the department. · Ability to work extended days and/or as needed.
