Process Engineer

Process Engineer Grade: Reports to: Manager, Engineering Department: Technology Classification: Salaried Exempt Division: Process Engineering Date: 1/22/26 Approved: Engineering Manager JOB SUMMARY: Performs support duties related to the design of processes including the launch of new products and maintaining or modifying existing products utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) & APQP techniques. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Using relevant computer-based engineering programs such as Solid Works & AutoCAD for… Drawing customer prints. Drawing internal process prints and creating necessary documents for cold forming, thread rolling and other internal ops. Designing gages for use in production. Modifications to the plant layout for adding or moving machinery. Read, generate and maintain specific, customer blueprints. Utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) on prints. Troubleshoot problems with the manufacturing and engineering teams. Use core tools to address product launch and customer concern issues (8D, FMEA, CP). Work with Sales and Production on new and existing parts Participate in APQP activites for new products Participate in design and process reviews with Sales and customers Complete Process Change Requests. Familiar with SAP master data in order to maintain materials. Analyze capacity for balancing and new equipment planning ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Interdepartmental contact on existing jobs and tooling. Be a contributing member to cross-functional teams as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required Experience in the fastener industry is preferred. Physically able to lift 30 pounds. Good communication skills. Computer skills, specifically with CAD software and Excel, necessary; SAP preferred. Knowledge and use of precision measurement equipment required. Individual must be very thorough and accurate. ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES: Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant. Added responsibility as outlined in the Environmental Management System. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT Training to be reviewed annually.
