Makes rounds of machine rooms to check for proper operation of equipment while being alert to noises, vibrations, and unusual smells within the mechanical spaces. Identifies hazards within the machine rooms and works to eliminate them.Evaluates effectiveness of procedures and make recommendations for improvements.Performs routine preventive maintenance. Evaluates and makes recommendations to supervisor regarding the condition of equipment that may need to be repaired or replaced to prevent costly downtime in the future. Evaluates the nature of reported problems, determines the most effective method for corrective measures, affects the needed corrections, provides necessary follow-up, and completes all required documentation.Troubleshoots and repairs the pneumatic tube system. Responds to fire alarms and resets the system. Responds to the loss of electrical power, water, medical air, and medical vacuum and other life safety equipment.Investigates complaints and observations regarding poor or damaged equipment and attempts to remedy the problem while providing the necessary documentation to keep equipment histories current.Assists in moving and placing furniture, fixtures and other equipment using the proper equipment and safety standards.Reports any unsafe situations or practices to the supervisor.Maintains a clean and safe working environment at all times.Recommends spare parts to ensure prompt completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.Maintains familiarity with repair manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Evaluates equipment operation and makes recommendations for improved and cost effective operations.Performs other duties as required or assigned.QualificationsHigh school graduate with 2 years mechanical experience, formal technical training, and computer experience required.The ability to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and equipment manuals required.Required Licensure/Certifications- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required in accordance with D-H's Driver Disqualifications Guidelines.Area of Interest: ServicePay Range: $22.82/Hr. - $35.38/Hr.FTE/Hours per pay period: 1.00 - 1.00 - 40 hrs/weekShift: DayJob ID: 39525Dartmouth Health offers a total compensation package that includes a comprehensive selection of benefits.
