Network and Systems Engineer

Overview:The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and operation of back-office infrastructure technologies, including Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access VPN, Meraki wireless, web application firewalls, servers, and virtualization platforms.The Network and Systems Engineer will manage and maintain global data center infrastructure, drive technology improvements, support critical operations, and make recommendations that align technology investments with business needs.Key Responsibilities:Provide Tier 3 support and administration for Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, and related infrastructure technologiesManage global networking and security environments, including LAN, WAN, wireless, Internet connectivity, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and security controlsDesign, implement, support, and optimize data center, network, security, and infrastructure solutionsLead infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and technology improvements across multiple platforms and environmentsInstall, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, network equipment, virtualization platforms, and supporting infrastructurePerform capacity planning, performance monitoring, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery planningMaintain secure and reliable environments through access controls, security policies, monitoring, and proactive maintenanceRecommend and implement hardware, software, and process improvements to enhance performance, scalability, reliability, and securityManage vendor relationships and ensure adherence to contractual SLAs and support obligationsDevelop and maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, policies, and operational proceduresParticipate in an on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance activitiesThe selected candidate will be required to visit our data centers (one in Kenosha, WI (quarterly) and the other is in Itasca, IL more often)Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field4+ years of experience in Network and Systems Engineering with progressively increasing responsibilitiesStrong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure technologies, including Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, OpenShift, and XCP-NGHands-on experience implementing and supporting Cisco switching (IOS and Nexus), Meraki wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access VPN, and web application firewallsStrong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, LAG, Spanning Tree, and VoIPExperience with circuit ordering, provisioning, and turn-up activitiesExperience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as NetFlow, Syslog, Observium, and ZabbixStrong security mindset with experience implementing and maintaining security controls.Experience supporting global, multi-site environments and driving infrastructure standardizationStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to lead major incident response activities and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience managing technology vendors and outsourced service providersDemonstrated commitment to continuous learning through certifications and professional developmentWillingness to participate in on-call rotations and occasional weekend maintenance activitiesThe base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $80,000 and $100,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, and business needs.
