Job Title: Lab TechnicianLocation: Madison Heights, MIContractor Work Model: OnsiteSchedule: M-F 8am-4:30pmCompensation: $25.00 - $27.00/hrType: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanentResponsibilitiesConduct sample testing of coatings characteristics on coated substrates using established proceduresEvaluate, collect, and record data into software applicationsOperate physical and analytical testing equipmentDocument all necessary entries for quality (standard checks/verifications)Be responsible for general laboratory cleanup and other general lab duties as assignedWork effectively and efficiently on major project teamsCustomer interfacing (communication; correspondence; etc.)Ensure compliance and understanding of corporate standards (Safety, Housekeeping, Quality, etc.)RequirementsBachelor's degree in chemistry or in a technical fieldPrior laboratory experience preferred; previous experience in an analytical laboratory highly desirableComputer literate in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to understand and follow directions with method testing and equipment usage/supportComfortable working with toxic chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocolsAbility to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the dayWork in a fast-paced high-volume environment and perform task assignments with limited supervisionSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
