Plan and provide instruction for students with disabilities in accordance with NYS mandates and standards.2. Provide instruction for middle school students with social/emotional needs in a supportive and structured learning environment.3. Develop and prepare students for future training, independence, and potential employment pathways through hands-on, real-world experiences.4. Provide instruction in career opportunities, financial literacy, problem-solving, and innovation.5. Deliver instruction in woodworking, fabrication, and technology, including safe tool use, basic construction techniques, and design-based projects.6. Integrate design thinking and problem-solving processes into instruction to support creativity, collaboration, and real-world application.7. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs and support progress toward individualized goals.8. Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans utilizing best instructional practices, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning.9. Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to foster collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.10. Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, districts, and community agencies.11. Manage, supervise, and support classroom team members, including teaching assistants.12. Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment across all teaching spaces.13. Participate in ongoing professional development and required training.QUALIFICATIONS:1. New York State Certification in Technology Education K-12 required.2. Serve Safe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.3. Experience working with students with disabilities at the middle or high school level.4. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in basic food preparation, kitchen safety and sanitation, Monroe County Sanitation Code, purchasing food and supplies.5. Experience or ability to teach woodworking, fabrication, and safe use of tools and equipment.6. Training in Life Crisis Intervention strategies, TCI, or similar problem-solving approaches preferred.7. Knowledge and experience in implementing NYS standards and curriculum development.8. Ability to design and deliver integrated curriculum including FACS, technology, and applied life skills.9. Proven leadership in managing and supporting a classroom team preferred.10. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.11. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
