Underwater Bridge Inspection Technician | Medley, FLIMEG is seeking a Underwater Bridge Inspection Technician to support our Bridge Inspection Operations Team throughout South Florida and surrounding regions. This role combines commercial diving operations with hands-on bridge inspection assistance for above water and underwater structural inspections in support of FDOT, municipal and other government agencies. The role involves field work outdoors including bridges, waterways, marine facilities and active roadway conditions. Work my include climbing, working over water, diving operations, nighttime inspections and extended field assignments.Principal ResponsibilitiesAssist Bridge Inspection Teams during routine, in-depth, emergency, and special inspectionsPerform commercial diving activities using surface-supplied air systems in accordance with OSHA and company safety requirementsAssist with underwater cleaning of piles, caps, seawalls, and substructure elements for inspection accessSupport inspection personnel with sounding, measurements, photography, note taking, and defect documentationAssist with deployment and retrieval of boats, dive systems, pumps, compressors, and inspection equipmentSupport topside inspection activities including access setup, traffic control coordination, and equipment transportMaintain dive logs, equipment checklists, and field documentationFollow all safety procedures, including confined space, fall protection, and marine operations protocolsAssist with emergency response and post-storm inspection assignments when requiredMaintain vehicles, boats, trailers, and dive equipment in clean and operational conditionRequired Qualifications And SkillsAssociates degree or certificate in related field preferred but not requiredCommercial Diving Certification from an accredited diving program requiredValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record requiredAbility to swim and work in marine and adverse weather environments required; experience operating boats and marine equipment preferredAbility to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.Ability to travel throughout Florida as neededAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsExperience working around bridges, seawalls, ports or transportation infrastructure preferredPrevious bridge inspection, marine construction, subsurface supplied air diving experience preferredFirst Aid/CPR certification preferredOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferredThis position is not eligible for sponsorshipWhy Join UsIMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact.
