Role OverviewAs a Tax Senior CPA, you’ll play a key role in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, supporting tax planning projects, and helping clients navigate questions from the IRS and state agencies. You’ll also help coach junior staff and collaborate closely with firm leadership. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who wants meaningful client work and a clear path toward advancement (including Tax Manager opportunities as you grow). What You'll Do• Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and individuals. • Assist with tax planning, projections, and estimates—turning technical guidance into clear, practical next steps for clients. • Perform tax research and communicate conclusions clearly (written and verbal) to clients and teammates. • Work directly with clients and assist with IRS and state notices, correspondence, and information requests. • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients by being responsive, proactive, and detail oriented. • Review staff work and provide coaching and support—helping the team deliver high-quality workpapers and returns. • Collaborate with leadership on workflow improvements, client deliverables, and special projects as needed. What You Bring• Active CPA license (required). • 3–6+ years of public accounting tax experience (small to mid-sized firm experience is a plus). • Partnership tax experience is strongly preferred; experience with closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals is a plus. • Strong organizational, communication, and client-service skills. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Working knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus; experience with CCH ProSystem fx or CCH Axcess is a plus. • Enjoys mentoring, collaborating, and continuously improving processes and work quality.
