Senior ResearchScientist: Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) EntechInstruments Inc. is a California based instrumentation company is seeking anindividual with specialized skills and substantial experience withGC/MS method development. In-depth knowledge of samplepreparation and headspace introduction techniques (SPME/SBSE/dynamic Headspace)for a variety of matrices including water, waste water, food and beverage isrequired. The candidate will participate on a team focused on new productdevelopment and new applications for a number of industry verticals includingDrinking and Waste Water analysis, Synthetics Characterization, Food,Flavor & Fragrance analysis; Food Safety & Materials; Clinical BreathAnalysis, Analysis of Metabolomic Volatile Organic Compounds; EnvironmentalApplications and many more. Entech's newlydeveloped technology VASE (Vacuum Assisted Sorbent Extraction) aims torevolutionize a number of industry’s that currently utilize methods such as solventextraction, dynamic headspace, SPME (Solid Phase Micro-Extraction) and SBSE.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved with R&D productdevelopment, applications development, customer application support, appnote and peer reviewed paper development and publication, andpresenting findings in both oral and poster presentations at conferences andtrade shows. Responsibilities: Researchingand investigating major market drivers and duplicating popular analysisutilizing our proprietary sample extraction technology to demonstrate itssuperiority Constructinga body of evidence to support the development of an application note andworking with other senior chemists to finalize and publish findings Creatingnew applications Webpresentations Methoddevelopment Requirements : Minimumof 5 years of GCMS or GCMSMS methods development in a research orientedcapacity. Extensiveexperience with Thermo GC's a big plus! (ISQ 7000, TSQ 9000, AEI source) SPME,SBSE, Dynamic Headspace and other sample preparation experience a plus. Experiencewith Agilent, Thermo, or Shimadzu GC-MS systems. Excellentcommunication skills in English, both oral and written for technicaldocumentation, reporting of experimental results, and oral presentations. Mustbe enthusiastic about new product development and willing to participate inrigorous experimentation with short production timelines. Mustbe able to present technical concepts and simulated or experimental results. Educationalprofile should include: Analytical Chemistry at MS or PhDLevel. GCMS, GCMSMS, LCMS experience.
