This role owns project execution from early-stage development through late-stage readiness for Notice to Proceed (NTP), coordinating cross-functional teams and driving projects through key milestones. The Developer serves as the central point of accountability ('quarterback') for project success, ensuring alignment across interconnection, permitting, land, engineering, and commercial workstreams while navigating the complexities of the CAISO market.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Development LeadershipLead development of renewable energy projects across CAISO from site selection to execution readinessDrive advancement through key milestones including site control, interconnection queue progression, permitting approvals, and commercial structuringProject Management & ExecutionDevelop and manage integrated project schedules, budgets, and risk registersTrack milestones and proactively adjust plans to maintain timelinesCross-Functional CoordinationCoordinate inputs across interconnection, land, permitting, engineering, environmental, and commercial teamsIntegrate SME inputs into cohesive development strategiesRisk Management & Decision-MakingIdentify and manage risks related to CAISO interconnection, permitting, land constraints, and market considerationsLead tradeoff discussions and recommend solutions to advance projectsStakeholder EngagementLead engagement with landowners, utilities, CAISO stakeholders, permitting agencies, and consultantsRepresent AES in project meetings and negotiationsQualificationsRequired :Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental studies, or related field4–7 years of experience in renewable energy development or related fieldStrong understanding of interconnection, permitting, land, and project development processesPreferred :Experience with CAISO interconnection and California permitting processesExperience developing solar, storage, or hybrid projects in CAISOKey CompetenciesProject Ownership and AccountabilityStrategic Thinking and Decision-MakingCross-Functional LeadershipCommunication and Stakeholder ManagementExecution ExcellenceScope & AccountabilityOwns end-to-end project development outcomes within CAISO portfolio. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus. The benefits offered for this position are: medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (including vacation, sick leave time, and parental leave).
