Shift Supervisor (Sergeant) (1st Line)G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc., an Allied Universal Company, is hiring a Shift Supervisor (Sergeant) (1st Line). The Shift Supervisor provides direct first level supervision of day-to-day transport operations that include the supervision of transport teams. The Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Site Supervisor and is responsible for direct oversight and planning of daily shift schedules, workflow, and day-to-day operations of transportation teams. The Shift Supervisor also coordinates G4S tactical operations with customer's in-house supervisors.Responsibilities:First level supervision of transportation teams and operations; manage daily shift schedules; interface with customer-level supervisors and Site Supervisor; evaluate performance of Transportation Officers; clearly articulate directives, policies, and procedures to subordinate personnelLiaise with G4S first and 2nd level supervisors; frequent meetings with customer-level supervisors concerning operational and personnel issuesReport incidents, statistical requirements and status reports to Site Supervisor, Compliance Manager and Fleet Manager; provide weekly physical security-hours reports; submit timely incident reports; provide status reports as requiredAssess operational needs of transportation teams, and determine, develop and implement measures to satisfy needed itemsProactively identify vulnerabilities to operations specific to safety and certain events such entry and exit attempts; develop and implement solutions that mitigate identified operational vulnerabilitiesAssess and evaluate enhancements to operational efficiencies and coordinate recommendations with Site SupervisorsAssess training and skills deficiencies of Transportation Officers and coordinate corrective measures with Site SupervisorQualifications (Must Have):Must possess a high school diploma or equivalentMust be able to meet and maintain any applicable licensing, including driver's license, or certification requirementsMust be a citizen of the United StatesMust possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Officer License issued by the State of CaliforniaMust possess a current and valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).40 caliber or.9mm Firearms Permit or Weapons Card issued by the State of CaliforniaAs a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; G4S will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable lawsAs a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by lawMinimum of two (2) years of driving experience and a minimum of 21 years of age (as required by the Department of Transportation)Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of successful experience in field supervision of correctional officer servicesMust possess supervisory/management experience in a multi-location security environmentMinimum of three (3) years of experience in any combination of the following:Law enforcementMilitary policeSecurity officer engaged in functions related to civil or administrative correctional operationsMust be at least 21 years old or minimum required by the state, if higherMust be able to read, understand, and comprehend legal regulatory rulings and guidanceEffective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly, and accuratelyPlanning and organizing skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsProblem solving and active listening skillsAssess and evaluate situations effectively; able to synthesize facts, concepts, and principlesAble to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacyTeam leadership skills; coaching, mentoring, motivating othersSetting and achieving goalsAttention to detailBenefits:Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insuranceEnrollment in our company's 401(k)plan, subject to eligibility requirementsEight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal daysVacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly.
