Management Trainee

We're proud to support essential industries helping bring clean air and water to everyone.The purpose of the Trainee position is to prepare individuals over a 12-month period for an Inside Sales or Estimator role, and longer-term, potentially Branch Manager, Outside Sales, or Corporate role, as their knowledge, experience, and performance allows. The Trainee will be cross-trained in core business functions to include, but not limited to, warehouse operations, product delivery, sales, and customer relationships/service. Trainees will also be exposed to branch level accounting, inventory management, human resources, safety/compliance, and customer invoicing.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAnswer multi-line telephone systemAssist customersGenerate frequent progress reports on training statusPull orders with 100% accuracy and package safely to load on trucksMaintain a clean and organized warehouse and yardUse various moving equipment to handle large materialsEnsure forklifts are kept in good and safe working conditionSchedule UPS shipmentsMake customer deliveries (non-CDL) as neededWork with walk-in customers regarding questions on orders, quotes and/or job specificationsAssist with take offs, enter bids and process submittalsReceive and check accuracy of inventory received from vendorsStock and restock inventory/materialsPurchase material that is needed outside of regular inventory purchasesOrder regular stock inventoryGenerate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information to customersAccurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returnsWork closely with vendors to make sure product shipment/delivery dates are adhered to and communicate appropriately to the customer of any changesResponsible for timely and accurate data entry of sales orders and/or purchase orders into the Mincron systemLoad and unload trucksProactively recommend products to customersContact customer following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaintsAssist with physical inventory countsAttend continuing education classes and University of Fortiline sessions as assignedPerform other related duties as assignedExperience/Skills/AbilitiesMust be willing to relocate upon conclusion of the Trainee programAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsPresent a professional image at all times to customers and vendorsDevelop strong working relationship with customersAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Fortiline WaterworksBasic to intermediate math skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
