Assistant Front End Manager (59921)

Job Overview Homeland is looking for passionate individuals ready to be an Employee Owner and deliver incredible customer service at our store in Henryetta, OK. This is a part‑time position ($14.00 hourly) in a fast‑paced retail environment. Primary Responsibilities Greet and supervise customers, responding to questions, requests, and complaints in a courteous manner. Initiate and/or make recommendations regarding the hiring, discipline, promotion, and evaluation of all front‑end personnel. Orient and train all new front‑end associates, and retrain when necessary. Develop, with store manager approval, a weekly labor schedule for all front‑end employees. Ensure safety for all staff and customers by following store safety rules and reporting any hazards immediately. Bag customer purchases quickly and correctly. Operate electronic cash registers, scanners, scales, and intercom systems. Monitor front‑end service, calling for additional help or opening express lanes when necessary. Get change for cashiers and approve checks, refunds, and voids. Supervise checkout and proper bagging of customer purchases, including moving bagged items to the customer’s vehicle. Handle returns of “go backs” to the proper location, refill bag‑stand areas, and collect carts from the parking lot. Follow opening and closing accounting procedures. Ensure front‑end personnel are aware of new produce items, policies, procedures, and rules. Prevent loss by ensuring cashiers remove items from the bottom of carts and perform price checks on not‑on‑file items. Accurately identify produce, count money, and apply store procedures for coupons, EBT, credit/debit cards, charge sales, and checks. Make judgments concerning employee scheduling, product/supply ordering, hiring/supervision, merchandising plans, operational policies, and sales/promotion of merchandise. Display strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior supervisory experience. Prior cashier experience. Commitment to customer service excellence. Specific Tasks Perform cashier duties while substituting as part of the work crew or training new employees. Work on tile or concrete for up to 8 hours per shift. Perceive inventory items, bag stands, cases, shelves, product sizes, and quality, as well as customer needs, shelf tags, labels, stocking carts, debris, aisle markers, and signs. Work Environment Inside work with heat, cold, humidity, and dust transitions from the opening and closing of entrance and exit doors.
