Medical Director of Structural Heart Opportunity in Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from New York City)
Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, is seeking a Medical Director of Structural Heart to join our Heart and Vascular Institute in Danbury, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will be board certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. Post fellowship training experience in Structural Heart is ideal. The candidate should have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience post fellowship training. Previous leadership experience is a plus.
Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, a Stroke Center and a Chest Pain Center, offering 24‑hour interventional cardiology. Cardiac services include Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and an Arrhythmia Center. Our Cardiac Surgery Program includes TAVR.
Specific Responsibilities Include
Clinical Leadership & Program Development
Establish clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices for structural heart interventions as well as drive innovation and adoption of new technologies and procedures
Lead multidisciplinary heart team meetings and case selection conferences
Quality & Outcomes
Establish and monitor quality metrics and clinical outcomes, including oversight of data collection and submission to national registries
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit and retain specialized structural heart team members and provide leadership and training opportunities for support staff
Strategic Planning & Growth
Develop strategic plans for program growth, expand referral networks, and collaborate with marketing on promotion and outreach
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with members of the Heart and Vascular Institute as well as other departments and hospital administration
We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and generous allowances for CMEs and dues expenses as well as relocation allowance.
Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and nearby to Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City.
