Pathology Assistant Location: Carbondale, IL Agency: Acruex Health Pay: $1,696 to $1,824 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Pay Rate: $53.00 - $57.00/Hourly. Summary: The Pathology Assistant (PA) works under the supervision of pathologists to perform gross examination, dissection, and preparation of surgical specimens, biopsies, and autopsy materials. The PA ensures accurate and high-quality specimen processing to support diagnosis, research, and patient care, while maintaining strict laboratory safety and quality standards. Responsibilities: Performs procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician. Provides assistance with the gross description and dissection (examination) of surgical tissues. Submits specimens for histological and other laboratory testing. Summarizes patients’ medical history. Relates and functions effectively with the medical community, lab, and other hospital staff. Requirements Requirements: 2 - Year experience Required, Master’s degree in Health Science or Pathology, BLS Certification, ASCP Certification.
