CNC Programming Specialist

Duties
Develop and write CNC programs for 5-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to accurately set up machining operations.
Optimize machining processes by applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivity.
Set up and operate CNC machinery, including tooling selection, fixture setup, and calibration for precision machining tasks.
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to ensure parts meet strict quality standards.
Troubleshoot programming issues related to Fanuc controls and other CNC systems; modify programs as needed for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs for manufacturability using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and quality control records to ensure traceability and compliance.
Experience
Proven experience programming CNC machines such as CNC milling machines (including 5-axis) and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on knowledge of Fanuc control systems and CAM software like Mastercam or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC tooling selection, and machining tool setup.
Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in metal machining processes to optimize performance and precision.
Ability to interpret engineering CAD designs created with SolidWorks or CATIA for accurate program development.
Experience working within lean manufacturing environments to enhance efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
Skilled in measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments for quality control purposes.
