SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Baggage Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising the baggage service team to ensure efficient baggage handling operations. This role involves training and guiding staff in handling passenger inquiries, lost luggage claims, and resolving baggage-related issues. The Supervisor maintains accurate records of baggage incidents and ensures compliance with airport and airline baggage policies. Effective communication and coordination with other airport departments, as well as providing leadership to the team, are essential aspects of this role to ensure smooth baggage services and high passenger satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the baggage service team to ensure efficient operation
Train staff in handling and resolving baggage-related queries
Monitor the processing of lost, delayed, and damaged baggage claims
Coordinate with airlines and ground handlers for baggage tracking and recovery
Implement and uphold high standards of customer service
Address and resolve escalated customer concerns and complaints
Maintain accurate records and logs of baggage incidents
Enforce adherence to airport security and safety protocols
Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members
Keep abreast of airport and airline baggage policies and procedures
Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments
Prepare operational reports for management
Innovate solutions to enhance baggage service efficiency
Ensure proper staffing and resource allocation
Lead by example in providing exemplary baggage services
Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
Must hold a valid driver's license.
Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
1 Year supervisory experience
2 Years Customer Service experience
1 Year Baggage Handling experience
Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
Pass a background check and drug screen
Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
