Title: School Nutrition (SN) Assistant Manager FY2526_124School: High SchoolReports to: SN ManagerShift: Monday - Friday 191 days (180 school days, 3 pre-start days, 8 holidays) 6:30 AM-1:30 PMStart date: TBDPurposeThe SN Assistant Manager will work under the direction of the SN Manager to prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for students and staff within the school district. This position involves supporting meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring proper food handling practices, and assisting in the overall operation of the school nutrition program. This position requires adherence to state and federal guidelines, support of District goals and initiatives, and dedication to growing the SN program, both at their assigned school and throughout the district.Essential Job DutiesDemonstrate a positive, motivating, and caring attitude for students, staff and guests while representing the standards of the Belgrade School DistrictOversee all areas of food preparation, meal serving and cleanup as assigned by the SN ManagerDemonstrate proper cooking methods and techniques, emphasizing good nutrition and serving quality foodParticipate in the planning of menus, ordering of food and supplies, and maintaining an accurate inventoryAssist the SN Manager in maintaining compliance with District, State and USDA guidelinesShow an ability to effectively communicate with the School Principal and school staff in order to facilitate the goals of the School Nutrition DepartmentHandle food according to proper sanitation regulations and follow safety standardsAssist with food preparation for special events, school functions, or other district-related activities as neededWilling to maintain and update school nutrition abilities by attending workshops, conferences, and in-service programsAbility to attend mandatory meetings outside of regularly scheduled work hoursPunctual and consistent attendance is an essential part of the job Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate knowledge of the principles of food management, nutrition, and applicable safety regulationsAbility to express oneself clearly and concisely in both oral and stamina, and endurance with the ability to do vigorous manual work and heavy lifting Required QualificationsAny combination of training, education and experience equivalent to graduation from high schoolMinimum of 2 years in a commercial kitchen or restaurantPossess a willingness to learn about K-12 food services operationsAbility to effectively operate, with instruction, commercial kitchen machinery/equipment Preferred QualificationsAt least 1 year in a K-12 or residential environmentExperience with managing employees or work teamsExperience with procurement and inventory Necessary Special RequirementsMust have or be able to quickly complete Food Managers CertificationMust complete USDA Professional Standard Training Requirements as required for continued employment Physical and
