Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Our company is looking for a Temporary Wound Care Nurse (RN) to join our team.Responsibilities:Complete MDS documentation for Skin Condition (Section M) for all facility residents.Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs.Attend staff meetings, in-service classes, and committee meetings.Participate in weekly wound team rounds.Establishes competencies for clinicians regarding wound care.Collaborates with other members of the Education Department on joint educational initiatives.Collaborate amongst Interdisciplinary Team to encompass all aspects of care to promote wound healing.Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for each assigned resident.Participate in the development and achievement of Wound Care Program and objectives.Perform all other duties as requested.Communicate in a positive, caring, and helpful manner with residents, family members, and other staff.Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families.Respect the dignity of each person.Requirements:Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly.Ability to work and stand 80% of an 8-to-12-hour shift.Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.Excellent presentation skills and organizational skills required.WCC certification, CWCN, CWOCN or CWS is preferred or certification pending within one year.Excellent time management skills.Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment.Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills.Excellent communication skills.Confers with the Director of Nursing and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders of residents in the facility.Valid State RN License required. Previous geriatric nursing experience preferredCurrent RN license required.
